OPPO has launched the new A-series handset, the OPPO A53s 5G in India today as promised earlier. The OPPO A53s 5G is a budget-oriented offering from OPPO that features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display and offers 5G connectivity. The device under the hood is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC that is aided with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The A53s 5G ship with up to 8GB of RAM and packs 128GB of internal storage. The OPPO A53s 5G comes in Cyrstal Blue and Ink Black colour option. The device is priced at around Rs 14,990, for which you get 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There’s even a higher-end model as well that packs 8GB of RAM. It is priced at around Rs 16,990. The OPPO A53s 5G will go on sale in India starting from May 2nd through Flipkart.

The OPPO A53s 5G sports a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ 1600 x 720 pixels resolution. The display offers up to 480 nits brightness and has a 71% NTSC color gamut. Powering the A53s 5G under the hood is MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 chipset that is paired with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The device packs 6GB of RAM and has 128GB of internal storage. There’s even a higher-end model that ships with 8GB of RAM. The smartphone even has a microSD card support option, allowing storage expansion up to 1TB. The device is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

On the software side of things, the A53s 5G runs Android 11 out of the box with ColorOS 11. In terms of imaging, the smartphone features a triple-camera setup that consists of a 13-megapixel main primary camera. The other two sensors the device incorporates is a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video-calling, the device sports an 8-megapixel camera that has an f/2.4 aperture.

Connectivity-wise, the A53s 5G offers dual-SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, and a USB Type-C port. The whole package is fueled by a 5000mAh battery. The OPPO A53s 5G will compete with the likes of the Realme 8 5G which was launched in India a few days ago. The Realme 8 5G even packs the same Dimensity 700 chipset and offers 5G connectivity. The base Realme 8 5G model with 4GB RAM is priced at around Rs 14,999, while the higher-end variant with 6GB RAM retails for Rs 16,999.
