PUBG Lite Won’t Be Playable Starting Today: Here’s Why The Free To Play Version Became Popular

Back in PUBG Corps announced that the PUBG Lite is going to end soon and the services will be terminated on April 29, 2021. The termination schedule shared by the company revealed that the developers will first shut down the lite.pubg.com webpage and then they will remove all the services. Just in case you don’t know PUBG Lite is a toned-down version of the original PUBG PC game title and this one was specially made for low-end PCs to make the game accessible for users who don’t have top-end gaming PCs or laptops.

PUBG Lite Goes Offline

The concept of the game remains the same as the original PUBG PC, but the graphics of the game was certainly reduced to make it compatible with low-end PC setups. It seems that the PUBG Lite version did manage to lure a lot of gaming enthusiasts across the globe. The lite version made the game available for all types of players with low-end PCs, but the company has decided to call off the game title and focus on the original version of the game.

Post-PUBG Mobile ban in India the company seems to be trying hard to relaunch the game in the country. PUBG Corp has recently announced the arrival of PUBG: New States soon, but the company is still focused on bringing back the game in the country. PUBG PC was never banned in the country and PUBG Lite made the game accessible for a wide range of players, but it seems that the company has some other plans.

Starting today all the services for PUBG Lite are going to end and the game will stop working from 5 AM UTC (10:30 AM IST) which means players won’t be able to log in or play the matches or spend their in-game currency. The new downloads of the game were already stopped last month and by now lite.pubg.com webpage was also shut down by the developers.

Also do note that the player support forum for PUBG Lite will also be discontinued from May 29. However, the PUBG Lite Facebook page will be still available even after the service ends on April 29.

“We are deeply grateful for the passion and support from the astounding number of PUBG LITE fans that have been with us. During the strenuous times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope that PUBG LITE was able to provide our fans with a fun way to stay safe. Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to close service after much deliberation and the time has come for our journey to end. We regretfully inform you that the service of PUBG LITE is scheduled to end on April 29th, 2021 (UTC),” reads the official announcement.
