Asus has confirmed the launch of the Zenfone 8 series for May 12. The company is expected to launch a “mini” variant of the flagship variant. Ahead of the launch, specifications of the upcoming Asus compact smartphone have leaked online. The latest development reiterates some of the previously leaked information. The phone will have a 5.92-inch display. We can expect it to have a 120Hz OLED panel. Under the hood, the phone packs a 4000 mAh battery. It will come with 30W fast charging support. Asus Zenfone 8 Mini is expected to launch on May 12. Ahead of the launch, some key specs of the smartphone have leaked.

According to Dealntech, the upcoming Asus smartphone will launch as the Zenfone 8 Mini or the Zenfone 8 Flip. It will feature a 5.92-inch OLED display. We can expect the phone to feature 120Hz refresh rate support. Under the hood, the phone will pack a 4000 mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. Considering the relatively compact form factor, it was expected that the phone will pack a smaller battery.

Asus will launch the device in multiple storage configurations, the report claims. It will launch in 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 16GB + 256GB options.

The phone is rumoured to feature a Snapdragon 888 SoC under the hood. It could also feature a 64MP Sony IMX686 and a new Sony IMX663 sensor. The device was spotted on Geekbench 5 recently with the model number ASUS_I006D. As per the Geekbench 5 website, the device will come with a 2.84GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC under the hood. It will be paired with Adreno 660 GPU and 16GB of RAM. The device runs Android 11 out of the box.
