After several weeks of teasing the device, Xiaomi has finally taken the veil off its latest mid-range 5G offering, the Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G. The Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition has finally been launched in China alongside the company’s newest iteration of its in-house Android skin, dubbed MIUI 12. We will talk about MIUI 12 in a separate story. For now, let’s focus on the Mi 10 Youth Edition. The device features a 6.57-inch FHD+ panel and has support for 50X digital zoom. Furthermore, the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor. Mi 10 Youth Edition: Price and Availability
The Mi 10 Youth Edition is launched in four memory configurations – one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is priced at CNY 2,099 (roughly $296 or Rs 22,630), one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which is priced at CNY 2,299 (somewhere around $324 or Rs 24,780), one with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which is priced at CNY 2,499 (around $353 or Rs 26,940) and, lastly, the top-of-the-line variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which is priced at CNY 2,799 or around $395/Rs 30,150. The Mi 10 Youth Edition is currently only launched in China and the company has not revealed anything about its global availability.
Mi 10 Youth Edition: Specifications and Features
Starting with the display of the device, the Mi 10 Youth Edition sports a 6.57-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 2,400 x 1,080 pixel resolution, 800 nits peak brightness, and 60Hz refresh rate. The Mi 10 Youth Edition is HDR10+ certified and its front is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The device measures 164.06×72.77×7.88mm and weighs in at 192 grams. At the top of the device’s display, there is a waterdrop notch, which accommodates a 16MP selfie snapper. The device comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Moving around on the back of the device, the Mi 10 Youth Edition sports a quadruple rear camera setup, which consists of a 48MP primary camera with f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture and 120-degree field of view, an 8MP telephoto lens with OIS, 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 50x digital zoom, and a 2MP macro camera.
Under the hood, the Mi 10 Youth Edition is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 5G mobile platform, which is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS2.1 storage. Coming to the OS, the Mi 10 Youth Edition ships with the latest Android 10 OS out of the box with the company’s in-house MIUI 11 skin baked on top of it. That being said, the Mi 10 Youth Edition will be upgradable to MIUI 12.
As far as the battery of the Mi 10 Youth Edition device is concerned, the device sports a 4,160mAh battery, which has provision for up to 22.5W of fast charging over a USB Type-C charging port. The Mi 10 Youth Edition retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. Connectivity features of the Mi 10 Youth Edition include G SA/ NSA / Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, Dual-frequency (L1+L5), GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, and NFC.
