It was earlier this year that Xiaomi announced the launch of its new Redmi Note 9 series. This lineup currently consists of two handsets – the Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. Today, we have received information about the possibility of Xiaomi launching a new device called the Redmi Note 9 very soon. What is more interesting is the fact that leaked renders of the handset indicates that the Redmi Note 9 will, in fact, be a rebranded version of another new handset called the Redmi 10X.

In case you weren’t aware, Xiaomi is slated to officially launch the Redmi 10X in China later today. The launch event is scheduled for 5 PM IST, and we shall be covering that launch as well in detail.
As you might have already deduced by now, the Redmi Note 9 will be positioned below the existing Redmi Note 9 series lineup and will offer yet another option to the consumer in the highly competitive Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 price bracket where the likes of Xiaomi and Realme have multiple devices on offer.
As for the specs of the Redmi Note 9 (or the Redmi 10X), we know that this handset will come powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 processor. The phone will be available in multiple storage and RAM configurations. The display on the Redmi Note 9 measures 6.53-inches across, and it is an IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels.
The Redmi Note 9 also appears to feature a formidable quad-camera setup at the rear that consists of a 48MP primary camera, a secondary 8MP camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and two 2MP cameras for depth sensing and macro shots.
We expect the Redmi Note 9 to also feature a large 5020mAh battery that, apart from providing more than a days worth of battery life, also supports 18W fast charging using the supplied charger. The handset also features plenty of connectivity options – including a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm jack for wired connectivity.
As of now, there is no word if the Redmi 10X will make it to India as the Redmi Note 9 any time soon.
