Samsung has introduced a new entry-level smartphone in India, dubbed the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020). Those seeking something new on this device won’t be much delighted, as the 2020 edition of the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core comes with twice the storage found on the original Samsung Galaxy J2 Core smartphone. It features a 5-inch LCD panel, an 8MP primary camera, and an Exynos 7570 processor powering it. Take a look at the full specifications, features, price, and availability of the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020) smartphone and find out what it has in store for us.

Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020): Price and Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020) is kept at an asking price of Rs 6,300 in India, which roughly translates to somewhere around $83. The earlier Samsung Galaxy J2 Core, for reference, came with a price tag of Rs 6,200. The company has launched only a single memory variant of the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020).

Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020): Specifications and Features

Starting with the display of the device, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020) features a 5-inch LCD panel with a 540 x 960 pixel resolution. The display of the device is surrounded by big bezels all around, which does not come as a surprise considering the fact that the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020) is an entry-level smartphone. Though the company has not explicitly mentioned it, we can expect the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020) to come with Gorilla Glass protection, since its predecessor had it too.

Nonetheless, the phone sports a 5MP selfie camera placed on a typical forehead. Moving around on the rear of the device, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020) sports a single camera, which is an 8MP unit. The 8MP sensor on the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020) can record 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.

Powering the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020) is an Exynos 7570 Quad processor, which is a 14nm chipset consisting of four Cortex-A53 cores and a Mali-T720 GPU. The processor is clubbed with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage, so you need to be watchful of that. Internal storage, however, has scope for further expansion with the help of an external SD card (you can top up storage by up to 256GB on the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020)).

Coming to the battery of the device, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020) sports a 2,6000mAh battery, which is claimed to last up to 14 hours if one does web browsing over LTE. One interesting feature is the fact that the battery of the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020) is removable, something which we did not expect to be there in 2020.

As far as OS is concerned, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020) runs on a much-dated Android 8.0 Oreo Go edition, which is a bummer at its very best. The Go Edition, however, will help manage the considerably smaller internal storage found on the mobile phone.
