Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge Plus Launched with Endless Edge Design, 90Hz Display, 5G Support: Price, Features

Motorola has finally taken the veil off its latest flagship Motorola Edge series of smartphones. The Motorola Edge lineup consists of the Motorola Edge and the Motorola Edge+. Both devices are 5G mobile phones and come with flagship-level specifications and features. While the vanilla Motorola Edge is powered by a Snapdragon 765 processor, its beefier counterpart, the Motorola Edge+ is equipped with the flagship Snapdragon 865 processor. Motorola Edge, Motorola Edge+: Price and Availability

While the company has not made the price of the Motorola Edge smartphone official as of now, it has given a price tag to the Motorola Edge+. The Motorola Edge+ is priced at $999, which roughly translates to somewhere around Rs 76,400. The device will go on sale from May 14 via Verizon. Vanilla Motorola Edge, on the other hand, will go on sale sometime this summer.

Motorola Edge: Specifications and Features

Starting with the display of the device, the Motorola Edge sports a 6.7-inch Endless Edge display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The Motorola Edge is HDR10 certified. The device features an optical in-display fingerprint scanner. The Motorola Edge sports a single-punch hole cutout for the selfie camera, which is located in the top left corner of the device’s display. Speaking of, the Motorola Edge comes with a 25MP front camera. Moving around on the back of the device, the Motorola Edge sports a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 64MP primary camera. The device comes in two color schemes – Midnight Magenta and Solar Black.

Under the hood, the Motorola Edge is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor, which is clubbed with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. On the software side of things, the Motorola Edge ships with the latest Android 10 OS out of the box. The device comes with My UX, an app that integrates Moto experience and new Edge interface controls, including Edge gaming, Edge notifications, etc.

A 4,500mAh battery keeps the lights of the Motorola Edge on. The device’s battery comes with provision for up to 15W of fast charging via a USB Type-C charging port. The Motorola Edge retains a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Motorola Edge+: Specifications and Features

Coming to the Motorola Edge+, the Motorola Edge+ sports a 6.7-inch Endless Edge display with a 1080p resolution. The device is HDR10+ certified and features a 90Hz refresh rate display. just like the standard Motorola Edge, the Motorola Edge+ also comes with a single punch-hole cutout, which makes room for a 25MP selfie shooter. As far as cameras are concerned, it is the rear camera module that makes the difference, as the Motorola Edge+ comes with a much larger 108MP primary camera at the back, which is paired with a telephoto lens and an ultrawide lens. Just like its vanilla counterpart, the Motorola Edge+ also features an optical in-display fingerprint scanner. The device comes in two color options – Thunder Grey and Smoky Sangria.

Coming to the OS, the Motorola Edge+ runs the latest Android 10 OS out of the box. The plus variant also features the My UX app. Powering the Motorola Edge+ is the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, which is coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS3.0 storage.

The battery capacity of the Motorola Edge+ stands at 5,000mAh and it gets charged with up to 15W of wired charging speeds and 15W of wireless charging is supported as well. The Motorola Edge+ also supports Wireless PowerShare.
