In has become quite common for OTT providers to tie up with major telecom companies in India to offer bundled subscription packages. Over the past few years, we have seen major OTT players like Amazon Prime Video, Hotstar, Netflix, Zee5 and Eros Now partner with almost all the major telecom companies in India including Airtel, Vodafone-Idea and BSNL. This method of reaching out to new users has proven to be a great way for these OTT platforms to increase their userbase and then retain them.
In the latest such news, BSNL and Eros Now have announced that they have expanded their existing partnership. As previously reported by Gear, a free subscription to Eros Now was already being offered with select BSNL plans. Starting today, however, BSNL will offer an Eros Now subscription with a few more plans. As a part of this move, BSNL has launched three new Special Tariff Vouchers (STVs) that will provide users access to Eros Now. The specialty of these vouchers is that they are relatively affordable compared to older plans from BSNL.
The most affordable STV announced today is worth Rs 98 which lets the user gain unlimited access to Eros Now for 24 days. The second STV that also bundles an Eros Now subscription is worth Rs 298 which lets the user enjoy access to Eros Now for 54 days. The third STV is the most expensive of the three STVs and costs Rs 1,999. While offering a validity of 360 days, the Eros Now subscription that is bundled with this STV is only valid for 60 days.
