OnePlus 7 and 7T series users have been waiting for the Android 11 update for a while now. OnePlus said that there was an encryption-related issue due to which the Android 11 updates for these devices got delayed. Now, the company has finally released Android 11 based OxygenOS 11 Open Beta update for OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, and OnePlus 7T Pro. OxygenOS 11 Open Beta update brings several new features and changes such as Canvas, New clock faces, a new shelf interface design, and more. For now, OnePlus has revoked download links for OnePlus 7T, and OnePlus 7T Pro Open Beta update as users reported that their data was wiped during the process. We will update the post once the company fixes the issue, and releases download links.

Things to keep in mind before proceeding with Installation!

The company says that in order to flash OxygenOS 11 Beta, users need to have at least 3GB of free storage available on their devices. Users must also ensure that the device has at least 30% charge before proceeding with the flashing. The company also warns that users might face the following issues on their device after updating to OxygenOS 11 Open Beta,

• Potential risks of increased power consumption and instability.
• In some conditions, the Gallery app might be slower to load and some pictures may not be displayed in the Gallery.
• The devices (earphones, speakers, etc.) connected through Bluetooth may not be able to play sound occasionally.
• Brightness adjustment may lag in some conditions.

How to install OxygenOS 11 Open Beta on your OnePlus 7, 7T Series devices

Installing OxygenOS 11 Beta update on an OnePlus device isn’t much of a task. Users can update to the OxygenOS Open Beta version without losing their data as per the company. However, to be on the safer side, the company advises users to take back up of personal data before proceeding with the process. OnePlus also warns users that this is a Beta build, and may not be as good as Stable builds.

We would also like to warn our readers that going back to Stable from Open Beta build will erase user data. So, make sure you know your way around in case you are planning to switch to the Open Beta version. Let us now have a look at the flashing procedure,

• Users need to download the ROM zip file from the link provided below based on their region, and then copy this file to phone storage.
• Users need to head over to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Click top right icon -> Local upgrade -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> upgrade, and wait for the process to get completed.
• As soon as the process completes, users can tap the Restart button.
