BSNL Launches Rs.18 Prepaid Recharge Plan for its 18th Anniversary: Offers Unlimited Data, Voice Calls

State-run telco, BSNL is famous for its special tariff vouchers (STV) plans in different circles across India. The telecom operator has recently launched an STV worth Rs. 18 for all the circles across India to celebrate its 18th anniversary. The plan offers unlimited voice calls along with unlimited data.

BSNL Rs. 18 Prepaid Plan: Details

The special tariff voucher holds a validity of 18 days. For two days straight, subscribers will have access to unlimited data and can make unlimited voice and video calls to any network across the country. The plan from BSNL counters the Rs. 19 prepaid recharge plan from Reliance Jio that offers 0.15GB data per day along with unlimited voice calls and 20 SMS per day.

BSNL High-Value Prepaid Recharge Plans

In celebration of its 18th Anniversary, BSNL has rolled out certain high-value prepaid recharge plans that hold a validity of up to 90 days. There is plan priced at Rs. 1,801 that brings a talk time of Rs. 2,125 along with a total of 15GB data for 90 days. One more high-value plan from the telecom operator with the same validity brings a talk time of Rs. 1,417 and 10GB of data. The plan has been priced at Rs. 1,201. Furthermore, there is a plan priced at Rs. 601, that comes with a talk time of Rs. 709 and an additional 5GB of data. These plans are aimed at the users with higher voice calling requirements and long-term validation needs. The plans will be effective from October 1 to October 18 on a pan-India basis.

BSNL Rs. 299 Postpaid Plan: Details

Although BSNL is not particularly known for its postpaid plans, it has launched one last week to take on the likes of Jio and the master of postpaid plans, Airtel. The new Rs. 299 postpaid plan from BSNL offers a total of 31GB data with a FUP limit, unlimited voice calling benefits along with 100 SMS per day. The voice calling benefits are supported in all the BSNL-operated networks. When the FUP limit of the data is crossed, the speed will come down to 80Kbps. Also, the new BSNL postpaid plan also does come with the option to carry forward unused data from the previous billing cycle to the next billing cycle.

This postpaid plan from BSNL takes on Reliance Jio’s Rs. 199 Postpaid plan. The plan from Jio offers its subscribers a total of 25GB 4G data, free unlimited voice calling benefits along with 100 SMS messages. And like most of the Jio plans, this one also offers a complimentary access to Jio’s complete suite of apps for a complete bill cycle. Additionally, the subscribers can also avail additional data at Rs. 20 per GB for the next 500GB. Also, the users have to pay a sum of Rs. 250 as a security deposit for this plan, which is completely refundable. It also comes with Jio Prime membership worth Rs. 99.

In comparison, Vodafone has a basic postpaid plan that offers 20GB data, unlimited voice calling benefits, free incoming and outgoing on roaming, along with 100 SMS messages (local and STD). The plan also offers a  free subscription to Vodafone Play for a year. Additionally, the plan also comes with a data rollover option by up to 50GB under the plan. And finally, we have Airtel that is particularly popular for its postpaid plans. Countering the latest postpaid plan from BSNL, Airtel has a Rs. 399 postpaid plan that offers a total of 20GB 3G/ 4G data per month with rollover benefits for up to 200GB. Besides the additional data, the plan also offers unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls along with 100 SMS per day for a complete billing cycle.
