OnePlus 6 Now Receiving OxygenOS Open Beta 4 With Bug Fixes, Power Optimisations and More

OnePlus has always been pretty quick in pushing major software updates to its flagship killer smartphones. Ever since the last two years, it has been offering a Beta ROM of the Oxygen OS to interested consumers for testing out the new features before the official launch. Going by the trend, the Chinese startup has now rolled out the OxygenOS Open Beta 4 ROM for its recently launched OnePlus 6.

OnePlus 6 was the first phone, apart from the Pixels to receive the official Android Pie 9,0 beta build. Soon after the smartphone received the stable Android Pie 9.9 stable update in the form of OxygenOS 9.0. Previously, OnePlus has committed to supporting its new smartphones with two years of Android software updates and three years of security updates.

The latest OxygenOS Open Beta 4 brings in a handful of changes, with the most important being the touch latency. OnePlus has finally identified the widely reported touch latency issue in its flagship smartphone and has made the requisite software changes to fix it. Additionally, the all-new update brings with it an updated OnePlus Community 2.2.0 app. The brand new app comes with a wide range of options, including a new feed for following community members.

OnePlus 6 users who are running on a Beta Build and are yet to receive the update, is expected to receive an OTA update soon. The latest Beta ROM is expected to make its way to most, if not all smartphone by the middle of next month. Users who are currently running the stock ROM can also try out the new Beta ROM by downloading the zipped ROM file and refereeing to the flashing instructions on the official support website.

OnePlus 6 is the latest and greatest flagship smartphone form the Taiwanese start-up. It comes with flagship internals at an extremely competitive price tag and gives the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the LG G7 ThinQ a run for its money. Both sensors come with PDAF, while OIS is present in only the first. Furthermore, the OnePlus 6 packs a 16MP f/2.0 selfie snapper. The flagship smartphone comes with a 3,300mAH battery and is available for sale in an array of color hues, namely Midnight Black, Mirror Black, Silk White, and Amber Red.

The OnePlus 6 is priced starting at Rs 34,999. It is available for sale exclusively on Amazon and OnePlus’ official online store. The top end variant of the smartphone is priced at Rs 39,999.
