DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG is an error which is related to DNS network service. If you are facing internet connection issue or DNS server is not responding, you might face this issue.
How to Fix DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG Error?
1.Change DNS Server Settings
- Right Click Network Adapter Icon in right side of your taskbar and choose Open Network & Internet Settings.
- Then navigate to Change Adapter Options which will open the Network Connection window.
- Right Click on the Network Adapter you are connected and selet Properties.
- Now from the connections items select Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) and Click Properties.
- Under General Tab select Use the following DNS server addresses and enter the details as mentioned below.
Prefered DNS Server : 8.8.8.8 Alternative DNS Server : 8.8.4.4
- Once completed click on OK, now open the browser and refresh the page and the problem should be fixed.
Note: Above mentioned DNS server will work for all over the world, no matter wherever and whichever internet connection you are using.
2.Renew the IP address
- First open the Command Prompt by pressing Windows key + R, which will open the Run Window.
- Type CMD and click enter, once once black window comes up start typing ipconfig/release and click enter.
- This will release your IP address and then type ipconfig/renew and click enter which will then assigne new IP address.
- Now open the browser and refresh the page and the problem should be fixed.
3.Flush the DNS Cache
- First open the Command Prompt by pressing Windows key + R, which will open the Run Window.
- Type CMD and click enter, once black window comes up start typing ipconfig /flushdns and click enter.
- This will eletes any invalid records too and forces your windows computer to repopulate those addresses the next time you try accessing those websites
- Now open the browser and refresh the page and the problem should be fixed.
4.Restart Your Router Or Modem
If any of the above do not work the last option is to press the power button on your router, wait for a minute and turn your router back again. Which resets your IP address and fix the problem.
