Realme 2: 5 reasons why this OPPO sub-brand phone is a better pick over Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro

Realme, which started off as a sub-brand of popular smartphone maker OPPO in India, has managed to achieve great success within a short period of time. Its first smartphone, Realme 1 crossed the 400,000 unit sales milestone in just 40 days. The company’s first product as an independent company, the Realme 2 has also managed to create quite a buzz. In this post, we will be discussing five key reasons that make the Realme 2 a better buy compared to the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro.

Five Reasons to choose Realme 2 the Redmi 6 Pro

6.2-inch FullView Display: The Realme 2 is a significant improvement over the Realme 1 when it comes to the screen-to-body ratio, all thanks to the notch at the top. It sports a 6.2-inch FullView display featuring 720 x 1520 HD+ resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The screen-to-body ratio of the smartphone is an impressive 88.8%, which is higher than all its rivals. Xiaomi’s Redmi 6 Pro comes with a notched display as well, although the screen-to-body ratio is not as impressive. In terms of resolution, however, the Redmi 6 Pro display is certainly superior.

4230mAh Battery: One of the most impressive features of the Realme 2 is its massive 4230mAh capacity non-removable battery. In comparison, the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro comes with a 4000mAh capacity non-removable battery. Even though the difference isn’t very significant, the Realme 2 does have a very slight edge here. However, it should be noted that neither smartphone offers fast charging support.

Diamond-Cut Glass Back: The Realme 2 comes with a second-generation diamond-cut design at the back with 12-layer nanotech. While the Realme 2 is not the only budget Android smartphone to feature a glass back, the diamond-cut design does make it look quite classy. Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro, in comparison, sports a metal unibody design. While both smartphones offer great build quality, the Realme 2 is no doubt the more attractive handset of the two.

8MP Selfie Camera: The Realme 2 has a higher resolution 8MP selfie camera on the front with AI Beauty 2.0 technology. Realme claims the AI Beauty 2.0 technology can recognize 296 facial points to analyze the user’s age, gender, skin type, and skin color. It then selects from 8 million beautification options to pick one that is the most suitable. Additionally, the selfie camera comes with AR Stickers as well.

Lower Pricing: The Realme 2 starts at Rs.8,990 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant, while the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is priced at Rs.10,990. Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro starts at Rs.10,999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant, while the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is priced at Rs.12,999.
