Ahead of OnePlus 6T launch in October, this news about the company will disturb its rivals

As rumors gain traction and we look forward to the release of the OnePlus 6T and the successor to the widely popular OnePlus 6, other OEM’s in the market should be looking at what the company is doing and be worried.

The OnePlus 6 is one of the best devices we’ve seen this year thanks to its lower price when compared to the competition given the specifications that it offers. While the price of OnePlus devices is on the rise, they still provide excellent value given the specifications.

With the OnePlus 6T only a month away, the pressure is on the company to continue the excellent precedent that has been set with the OnePlus 6 and this could be in the form of an in-display fingerprint sensor as well as an even smaller notch in the display as we’ve seen in previously leaked renders.

A new device isn’t the only thing the company has lined up for the product release with OnePlus confirming it is launching new “headphones that are set to be launched alongside the company’s next device, projected for Q4 2018.”

OnePlus Enters the List of Top 5 premium smartphone OEM’s in Europe

If another flagship from OnePlus at an affordable price wasn’t enough to make the competition take note then the latest research from Counterpoint sure should. According to the research, OnePlus has entered the top five for premium smartphone OEM’s in Europe for the first time in France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, and the UK as well as across Western Europe.

Geekbench Performance iPhone Xs Oneplus 6

The success is thanks in large to the OnePlus 6, which became the company’s fastest-selling OnePlus device seeing over one million units sold in the first 22 days of sale. The sheer volume of units sold has helped catapult OnePlus’s market share and seemingly into the top list of premium OEM’s.

What should worry OEM’s is that the devices being offered by OnePlus are at a fraction of the price when compared to devices in the same category. A performance test from Tom’s Guide still pegs the OnePlus 6 above many flagship Android devices including the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9+. Considering the Note 9 will set you back upwards of ₹ 61,900, the OnePlus 6 comes in at almost half the cost at ₹ 34,999 so to even consider the two devices in the same category is an incredible feat by OnePlus.

Very recently OnePlus has entered the top 4 premium smartphone brands in Western Europe.

OnePlus 6T: Expected Specs, Features

The specs for the OnePlus 6T has seen various leaks with the screen coming in at 6.4-inches with a waterdrop notch in the AMOLED display ay 1080 x 2340 resolution. The OnePlus 6T display will also include a “light-sensitive” fingerprint sensor embedded under the panel and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on top for protection.

The OnePlus 6T will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor as the OnePlus 6 given the incremental update. The 10nm processor will be clocked at up to 2.8 GHz with an Adreno 630 GPU. The OnePlus 6T will be available in three memory configurations – 6GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage, 8GB RAM with 128GB of storage, and 8GB RAM with 256GB of storage. Like all previous OnePlus smartphones, the 6T will not include a microSD card slot for further expansion.

OnePlus 6T: Expected Price in India, Availability

OnePlus 6T is officially going to launch on October 17 and its expected price will probably be $50 (approximately price in India Rs. 3,621) higher than the base version of the OnePlus 6. If we go by that rule, the OnePlus 6T will cost approximately Rs. 38,999, which might sport 6GB of RAM followed by 64GB of internal UFS 2.1 internal memory.

We won’t have long to wait until OnePlus unveil the OnePlus 6T and I for one am super excited to see what the company brings to continue its mission of redefining a flagship with no compromises.
