Samsung Galaxy P30 to Reportedly Launch as Galaxy A6s; May Debut Alongside Galaxy A9 Star Pro (A9s)

Just a few hours back, we told you that the Samsung Galaxy P30 was spotted on TENAA. While we didn’t really know that the device would be called the Galaxy P30, we went with what the rumors had called the phone. Now, according to a new report, there is no Galaxy P30.

A new report has just surfaced stating that Samsung will launch the Galaxy P Series phones as Galaxy A Series phones. The company has scheduled an event for the October 11th, where it will be launching other Galaxy A phones. We were a little unsure about the Galaxy P series anyway.

If Samsung were to launch the Galaxy P30 and P30 Plus, it would be a completely new series. However, there was really no need for a new series, as the company already has the Galaxy A series. The mid-range smartphones from Samsung, are part of the A series.

Galaxy P30 is Galaxy A Series

It makes sense that Samsung launches more Galaxy A series phones, than a completely new series. The new report states that the Galaxy P30 and the P30 Plus was aimed for China, India, and other regions. Samsung hasn’t been doing very well in these places, thanks to the rise in Chinese manufacturers.

And that is true, as Samsung’s market share in the mid-range segment has dropped considerably. In India, the segment is lead by Xiaomi as of now. Other companies such as Oppo and Vivo and Motorola, are all doing better than Samsung.

The report quotes Industry sources, who believe that Samsung will launch the rumored P30 phones as Galaxy A6s, but later this year. It was expected that the company would unveil these new phones alongside other Galaxy A phones during an upcoming event. The source also states that the company has no intention to ever release any P series phones.

Another new report is suggesting that Samsung will be unveiling three devices at the ‘4X the Fun’ event, which is scheduled to happen on October 11th. This is where we expect the company to unveil the Galaxy A9 Star Pro with four cameras. This will be simply known as the Galaxy A9s. Samsung already unveiled the Galaxy A7, which features a triple rear camera setup. The company is bringing new features to its mid-range phones, so as to stir up more interest. This is one way of getting more customers to buy its phones.

Upcoming Galaxy A Series Phone Specifications

According to previous rumors, the Galaxy P30 and P30 Plus were supposed to be the first Samsung phones to include an in-display fingerprint scanner. However, earlier today, we posted some images of the phone, which revealed a standard fingerprint scanner.

We will see two new A series phones launched during the event, the Galaxy A6s, which is the Galaxy P30, and the Galaxy A. The TENAA certification showed that the Galaxy A6s will have a 5.99-inch display, and a 3300mAh battery.

The device that showed up on TENAA had a dual rear camera setup. The phones will also not have any kind of notch, and Samsung has stuck to the no-notch design so far. All of its new phones come with the Infinity Display design, with slim bezels all around.

It was also leaked that the Galaxy A6s will be available with 64GB And 128GB of storage, and in four color options; Black, Blue, Red, and Pink. There is no information available about the Galaxy A. The event is only a few weeks away, so the wait isn’t long.
