HMD Global had announced last month, on August that it will begin rolling out the stable Android 9 Pie update for the Nokia 7 Plus in September. Earlier this week, however, HMD Global Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas posted an update on his Twitter page saying the stable Android 9 update for the Nokia 7 Plus has been delayed due to some certification issues. Surprisingly, Sarvikas today, o September 28 announced that the stable Android Pie update for the mid-range smartphone has now started rolling out.
Nokia 7 Plus: Stable Android 9 Pie Update Begins Rolling Out
HMD Global has started a phased roll-out of the Android 9 Pie stable update for the Nokia 7 Plus to ensure quality. Initially, the update will only be available in open markets, while the operator variants will receive the update only after the update is approved by the respective operators. Sarvikas has also confirmed that the update will be rolled out to the 10 percent of install base first and then expand. This means some of you with a Nokia 7 Plus may have to wait for a week or so before you receive the update notification on your device. Some owners of the Nokia 7 Plus in India have claimed that they have received the stable Android 9 Pie update today, so we highly recommend heading over to the Settings Menu and checking for the update manually once.
