DxOMark reviews a lot of smartphones and provides them with scores based on the imaging and video performance. The device that is sitting on the top of the review website’s chart right now is the Huawei P20 Pro but sooner or later, it is going to be dethroned. Handsets like the Mate 20 Pro, Pixel 3 and the OnePlus 6T might find themselves on the top side of those rankings and for a brief moment, the leaked scores revealed that we might have some terrific cameras on the way. Unfortunately, DxOMark has clarified that those were not leaked camera scores, but a series of fakes.

The review website has taken to Twitter ever since the fake scores of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Google Pixel 3 and the OnePlus 6T started showing up. DxOMark took to the micro-blogging website to explain what went down and as much as smartphone fans are going to be disappointed with the latest news, the scores are photoshopped. According to the website, the scores were not leaked, but they are fake, much to the dismay of buyers who wanted a terrific smartphone with an unbeatable camera to rock as their daily driver.

DxOMark has also stated that it is going to be testing all upcoming devices and present the imaging, video and overall scores to buyers looking to purchase future flagship devices. Several publications and review websites are given these high-end smartphones a few weeks before they are officially launched so that the individuals testing these handsets can publish the reviews quickly and give buyers a better understanding of their imaging performance.

Talking about the leaked scores of the smartphones, only the Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s fake details had surfaced and according to the latest info, the flagship obtained 116 points as its overall score. This would place it on top of the P20 Pro, but since that score was a fake, we will have to wait for the legit ones to arrive. However, it should be noted that Huawei is planning to make some major camera upgrades to its Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro so it is highly possible that both phones outperform the P20 Pro.

In terms of performance, the Kirin 980 will effortlessly make short work of the Kirin 970 running in the P20 Pro, so there are expectations that the same achievement will be displayed by the cameras of those devices. Huawei, Google and OnePlus will officially be launching their flagships during October so stay tuned for the latest updates as the following month is going to be an exciting one.
