Idea Cellular Rs.149 Prepaid Recharge Plan Revised to Offer 33GB of 4G Data, Unlimited Calling for 28 Days

Idea Cellular has recently revised its Rs.149 prepaid plan. The revised plan offers data, voice calling and SMS benefits to its subscribers. It is valid for 28 days but is offered in select circles only. The revised Rs.149 prepaid plan takes on Reliance Jio’s and Airtel’s segmented, similarly priced at Rs.149 prepaid plans. This plan of Idea is an open market plan. Every prepaid user in the select circle can avail the Rs.149 prepaid plan.

Idea is offering its Rs.149 prepaid plan as a combo offer. Providing its subscriber with voice calling, text, and data benefits. For Rs.149, the user will get a cumulative data of 33GB on 2G/3G/4G networks.

Even though the call benefit is unlimited, the daily limit is set to 250 minutes and weekly to 1000 minutes. Interestingly, the user can only make calls to 100 unique numbers during the 28-day validity of the plan. A cumulative SMS benefit of 2800 SMS 100 SMS daily is also part of the prepaid plan.

Rs.149 Idea Cellular Prepaid Plan vs Rs.149 Jio Prepaid Recharge

The Rs.149 prepaid plan by Reliance Jio is touted the best-prepaid plan launched by the telco. It offers 1.5GB 4G data along with unlimited by FUP voice calls, and 100 SMS, every day. The Idea Cellular Rs.149 prepaid plan falls behind Reliance Jio Rs.149 prepaid plan in terms of data benefits. Reliance Jio prepaid plans to offer a cumulative 42GB 4G data for 28 days while Idea Cellular prepaid plan offers only 33GB in comparison.

Bharti Airtel Rs.149 prepaid plan is a segmented plan. It offers its user 1GB data daily for a period of 28 days with unlimited calling and 100 SMS daily benefits. In comparison, we find that where Airtel prepaid plan is segmented, Idea Cellular plan is an open market recharge option.

Additionally, cumulatively Airtel is offering only 28GB data while Idea Cellular is offering its subscribers 5GB more with a total of 33GB of data. But Idea is offering unlimited calling while placing daily and weekly caps, whereas, an Airtel subscriber of the Rs.149 plan will face no such restrictions. That means an Airtel user can make any number of calls during the 28 day period anywhere in India.

Limitations of Idea Cellular Rs.149 Prepaid Plan

One major limitation the Rs.149 prepaid recharge has placed on itself is the cap on calling. Voice calling is limited to 250 minutes daily and 1000 minutes weekly. Another notable exception they have created is allowing the Rs.149 prepaid plan user to call only 100 unique number during the 28-day validity of the plan.

Besides this, the plan is valid in only select circles of its operations. Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh are a few circles where the Rs.149 prepaid plan from Idea Cellular is valid.

The Active Recharge portfolio is currently available in only select operational circles.
