Honor Play Violet Colour Variant Will Launch Soon in India, Company Teases on Twitter

Hauwei’s sub-brand, Honor, is soon going to launch a new variant of the Honor Play. The new variant will come in a new colour, according to a tweet sent out by the company. Honor India posted a tweet today, stating that a new colour variant ‘Violet’ is coming soon. The Honor Play is a mid-range smartphone from the company, but it features some really good specifications. The phone has been advertised by Honor as a gaming phone, and it does come with some features to help improve gaming performance.

The phone has been available in India for some time now, in two colour variants; Navy Blue and Midnight Black. The launch of this new colour variant should increase sales a little more, as the hype for the device has pretty much died. There have been several new phones announced in India, since the Honor Play. Therefore, to get some more attention on the device, Honor is launching a new color variant.

The new colour for the Honor Play is called Violet, and as per the teaser image, it looks quite good. It looks more pinkish to be honest, but then again, it depends on the eye, I suppose. Let’s just go with Violet.

Honor hasn’t revealed any launch or pricing details for the new colour variant, but we expect it to be priced similar to the existing variants. As we mentioned earlier, the Honor Play is available in Midnight Black, and Navy Blue. It starts at a price in India of Rs. 19,999 for the variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The higher specification model, with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, is available for Rs. 23,999.

Also, the 6GB RAM variant is available via open sale on Amazon India. This means that you can buy it whenever you want. The cheaper version will continue to be sold via flash sales. The next flash sale is happening on October 3 on Amazon, so get prepared for that.

Honor Play: Specifications, Features

Honor sells the Honor Play as a gaming device, and that is because of GPU Turbo and Smart Shock features. The phone is a gaming device for the mass, because it is quite affordable when you look at the hardware and specifications.

The Honor Play comes equipped with a Hisilicon Kirin 970 processor, which is a high-end chipset that is equivalent to the Snapdragon 835. You can easily play all the latest games with good FPS and without draining too much battery. That’s thanks to the GPU Turbo tech that is available on this phone. It basically improves graphics performance, without taking a toll on battery life. The chipset is coupled with up to 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. Apart from GPU Turbo, the Honor Play also features something known as 4D Gaming and Smart Shock. This is basically a vibration motor that provides haptic feedback in games. The phone uses a metal unibody, and a fingerprint sensor is available at the back.
